‘Coaching is unlocking a person’s potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them’ J.Whitmore
Coaching is increasingly being seen as a key competence for managers and there is now widespread recognition of its potential as a development tool. Using a coaching approach will develop leadership capabilities at all levels within the organisation as staff are encouraged to find their own answers to challenges and issues and become more motivated and empowered. Making the shift to a coaching style of management requires the development of a specific set of skills and this course will give delegates the confidence and competence to apply this approach in a range of situations. Delegates will be expected to practise the skills on each of the days and will also experience being coached around issues that they are currently facing in the work place. Delegates are also expected to carry out coaching conversations in the workplace between course dates and complete reflective learning logs.
Target audience This course is aimed at managers at all levels who wish to develop their own leadership skills and encourage leadership and increase motivation within their staff.
overview This course combines both theory and practice and over three days will develop skills and confidence in this approach. The course is very participative and will involve exploration of delegates own approaches within a supportive, challenging and confidential environment.
The course can also be run in-house for organisations wishing to develop a coaching culture.
